- Argentinian revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara was a close compatriot of Fidel Castro at the time of the Cuban Revolution.
 - After serving in the Cuban revolutionary government, Che set off to advise others on revolution.
 - Beginning in 1965, Che traveled to several countries in Central and South America and in Africa to serve in rebel governments and to help train guerrillas for revolution.
 - The CIA tracked Che's activities because the U.S. believed strongly that socialism in Latin America would severely challenge U.S. interests there.
 - In 1967, Che was captured by CIA-trained forces in Bolivia where he was executed.
