Paternalistic refers to the designs of choice situations such that consumers are more likely to choose what maximises the utility of the paternalistic choice architect; without limiting the range of available options.
It designs choice situations such that consumers are more likely to choose what is good for them; without limiting the range of available options.
The choice architect is a father figure; and he is open-minded.
It designs choice situations such that consumers are more likely to choose what is good for them; while only limiting the range of available options subjectively, in line with what rational choice theory requires.
