Sociology will enable you to gain a better understanding of the social forces that shape your own life so that you will more self-assured with them. It will enhance your ability to be active and informed, able to influence better choices. Sociology is the study of society, its behaviour, its culture, its categories, its institutions, all of which affect individual attitudes.

While sociology is not an exact science as is biology or chemistry, it does employ descriptive studies that are measured as scientifically as possible. Of course, when dealing with human behaviours and interactions, there are too many variables for precision. Nevertheless, sociology has proven valuable.
