What do Archaeologists do?. Anthropology

• reconstruct the origin of the human species itself to make use of fossil remains that reach back millions of years into the past

• look for evidence of past human behaviour/cultural activities

• use dating techniques to establish ages of artifacts/fossils/remains

• seek explanations for social and cultural variability in the ways in which people interact with material culture (tool usages, ornaments)

• serve as an important tool for understanding the problems of past and present and for developing solutions that can help bring about a better future for human society
