If you had a chance to get into the “experience machine” for the rest of your life, would you do it? Why might the idea of the experience machine pose a challenge for hedonism?. Religious Studies
I think that getting into the experience machine would be fun for a while, but I wouldn't like to get into it for the rest of my life. I think the idea of this “machine” does pose a challenge to hedonism because it proves that happiness is not the only thing human pursue; even if this machine is making you experience all of this amazing things, there's still so much more that is being left behind, and that stops you for actually being happy.
