Can you think of any case in which experiencing pleasure fails to contribute to a person's well-being? If so, consider what a hedonist might say in order to undermine such a case.. Religious Studies
Think that a good case in which experiencing pleasure fails to contribute to a person's wellbeing might be when a person likes to drink alcohol excessively or abusing drugs. Even though these activities might bring pleasure to an individual, they are detrimental to their health, and therefore the their wellbeing. I think that an hedonist will argue that only happiness can make us better off, so if drinking or doing drugs creates enjoyment to a person, it contributes to the persons well-being regardless of the physical issues that might bring.
