How does a Hindu worship?. Religious Studies

Hindus typically worship regularly (called puja or "reverence") at shrines and temples, but also at home. Acts of worship typically include bowing, making offerings, and chanting. Adherents recite mantras, hymns, the names of deities, etc. Worship takes place at home in front of an altar dedicated to the purpose. Generally, there is an invocation to a specific deity followed by an offering—usually flowers, grain, milk, or food. The rituals can get quite elaborate depending on the deity, the purpose, and the occasion.
